| GS1 announces agreement of product recall system |

Bar code administrator GS1 has announced that it has reached a level of agreement that means it can proceed with the launch of its global product recall system. The system will give all participating producers more efficient and accurate recall action across the wide range of jurisdictions. The system complements the existing GS1 Traceability Standard, and includes existing country-specific recall systems such as Rapid Exchange Recall in the United States and ProductRecallnz in New Zealand. Currently GS1 is awaiting further significant registrations to the system from New Zealand producers.
